Nostalgia, music and smiles : MAPFRE employees visit elderly in Floriana

A group of employees of MAPFRE Middlesea and MAPFRE MSV Life dedicated some of their time to visit the elderly at the Government’s Home for the Elderly in Floriana.

This event was organised by the CSR Volunteering team of MAPFRE Malta which forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility Programme. During the year, the company organises a number of activities in which employees can help out within the community, through collaboration with various entities and NGOs.

During the visit at the residence, employees performed a number of classic songs, encouraging residents to sing and dance along. Employees also served food and spent time having conversation with the elderly.

“ These songs brought back so much wonderful memories of the past. We truly enjoyed this visit today, it made us feel truly valued, ” one of the residents said, following the activity.

“ Seeing the residents smile and sing along brought a lot of satisfaction. It is great that MAPFRE encourages such initiatives that give something back to the community,” Keith Mallia Milanes, MAPFRE Middlesea Assistant General Manager said.

This CSR programme is in line with the work of Fundacion MAPFRE, a non-profit entity of MAPFRE which contributes to improving people’s quality of life across the world, through a number of programs and activities.
