MAPFRE Middlesea supports Bubble Festival

For the third consecutive year, MAPFRE Middlesea supported The Bubble NGO to organise the annual not-for-profit festival that was held in Golden Bay at the end of September.

MAPFRE Middlesea assisted by reducing the cost for the festival and allowing for more proceeds to go to the beneficiaries.

In addition, a group of employees attended the Festival and also took part in one of over 60 workshops held on site. The workshop aimed at giving a broader insight into the benefits of a plant-based diet.

The Bubble NGO organises The Bubble Festival in support of environmental and humanatarian causes. The week-long Festival celebrates contemporary art and music with a special focus on positive awareness-raising events.

One of the key aims of the Festival is to get people out of their regular office and home environments and get them to immerse themselves in a camping experience. Here, they enjoy Malta’s beautiful coastline and natural habitat and the organisers use the natural setting to raise awareness about sustainable living. All food on site is vegetarian and sourced from sustainable sources. Festival-goers are taught in a number of ways how to minimise the impact our daily activities have on our planet. The Festival is set up using recycled or upcycled resources and all food and beverages are served in re-usable and/or compostable sources, meaning that no single-use plastics are used. This is no small feat given that the festival welcomes over 5000 people.

100% of the proceeds from the festival go towards environmental and humanatarian causes. This year the money raised will be donated to the Gaia Foundation, the Depiro Batakaan Orchestra, Right to Smile and the Majjistral Park.

The Festival had a wide range of events and activities, including live music, and a number of workshops dealing with meditation, sustainability and the environment, dance, veganism, yoga and creativity.
