What NOT to do while driving

Don’t drive when you’re tired!

Driving and you can feel yourself slipping, struggling to keep your eyes open? We’ve all been there. It’s time to stop.

Whether your job requires a lot of driving or you’re returning late from a vacation abroad, you’re at risk of getting into an accident. Driving when tired is often overlooked, yet it is just as dangerous as driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol.

You may be affected by fatigue when driving at any time of day, not only at night or on lengthy drives! When driving for work, sleep-related accidents are common, and they are connected to the number of hours travelled rather than the time of day.

Don’t eat while driving!

Eating while driving is risky for a variety of reasons. One of the main reasons is that eating while driving requires a lot of multitasking. You may not realize how easy it is for us to become distracted while multitasking.

When you eat and drive, you nearly always end up driving with one hand on the wheel. All while trying to manoeuvre the car, drivers must unwrap fast food items, wipe up spills and crumbs, throw away garbage, and more.

Even if you bring your own food to eat in the car, you may encounter lunch boxes with stuck zippers or Tupperware with jammed lids. Your hands are occupied with something. But they aren’t driving, which is what they should be doing

Don’t use your headphones while driving!

Isn’t it great to drive while listening to music? It’s similar to jogging while listening to music, right?

Not so much, there are some significant distinctions between these two, and one of them may be the law.

There are several problems about utilizing such devices while driving a car. The first is the division of your focus. Sudden loud noises, attempting to alter the level, or selecting your favorite music can quickly divert your attention, resulting in disastrous repercussions. Determine a playlist and connect your phone to your car ahead of time, and if you absolutely must change them, pull over to the side of the road and do it safely.

Don’t use your phone while driving!

Driver distraction, particularly via the use of cell phones, is regrettably one of the leading causes of deadly collisions and accidents.

Using a cell phone while driving is starting to be seen as disastrous, similar to driving while drunk. Legislation in Europe and throughout the world varies from country to country, although a substantial number of countries that prohibit the use of hand-held devices while driving nonetheless allow the use of hands-free phones.

Even when using a hands-free device, it is still considered a distraction, thus it is best to avoid using a phone while driving.

Don’t drink and drive!

We all know that drinking and driving is not only risky, but also illegal. You should never go behind the wheel of a car after having a few drinks. When you drive while inebriated, you put yourself and other drivers on the road in danger.

Drinking and driving may seem like a good idea while you’re drunk, but even little amounts of alcohol may slow response times and cause blurred or double vision, placing you in danger behind the wheel. You risk causing an accident if you drink and drive, leaving you with a smashed-up automobile and a large insurance claim. Drunk driving is always prohibited since one mistake on the road may put you or someone else in danger.
