The Bubble Festival is a week-long event which celebrates contemporary art and music with a particular focus on positive awareness-raising activities as well as supporting environmental and humanitarian causes.
In a number of ways, festival-goers are taught about sustainable living and on how to minimize the impact that our daily activities have on our planet. In addition, all available food at the festival is vegetarian and sourced from sustainable resources.
Another key objective of The Bubble Festival is to encourage individuals to step away from their day-to-day environments so that they may immerse themselves in a camping experience along one of Malta’s more beautiful coastlines and natural habitats.
In fact, Malta is home to over 1,000 species of indigenous flora, making it one of the richest countries in Europe for its various floral species, especially when taking into consideration that the Maltese Islands occupy only 316 square kilometers.
As a gesture of goodwill, a botanic expert who works with The Bubble had agreed to organize an hour-long nature walk for a number of MAPFRE Malta employees. The botanic guide had led the employees through the various indigenous flora which can be found along the trail within the picturesque setting of Għajn Tuffieħa. It was further highlighted that some of the flora found at Għajn Tuffieħa is actually edible, whilst other species are poisonous or have been used for medical purposes.
Last year, a total of €17,050 in proceeds was raised by The Bubble, which had been donated to The Youth Hub, Gaia Foundation, Kabataan Orkestra and Majjistral Park. For this year, the proceeds have been donated to Get Trashed Malta and Right to Smile in addition to the aforementioned beneficiaries.
Going forward, MAPFRE Middlesea will continue to show their support and sponsor events which promote healthy living and environmental sustainability.
MAPFRE Middlesea tappoġġja The Bubble Festival
Għar-raba’ sena konsekuttiva, MAPFRE Middlesea għażlet li tappoġġja lill-għaqda mħux governattiva The Bubble billi sponsorjat l-avveniment annwali, biex b’hekk tnaqqas l-ispiża tal-festival u tippermetti li aktar fondi jispiċċaw għand il-benefiċjarji.
The Bubble Festival huwa avveniment li jdum għaddej ġimgħa, fejn tkun iċċelebrata l-arti u l-mużika kontemporanja, filwaqt li titqajjem kuxjenza dwar l-ambjent u kawżi umanitarji.
Permezz ta’ diversi attivitajiet, dawk li jattendu dan il-festival huma mgħallma dwar għajxien sostennibli u dwar kif huma wkoll jistgħu jnaqqsu l-impatt negattiv fuq l-ambjent, permezz ta’ għażliet alternattivi fil-ħajja ta’ kuljum. Barra minn hekk, l-ikel kollu provdut waqt dan il-festival huwa magħmul minn ħxejjex (vegetarian) u rizorsi sostenibbli.
Dan il-festival għandu l-għan ukoll li jħeġġeġ individwi jitbiegħdu mill-ambjent tagħhom ta’ kuljum u jagħmlu esperjenza ta’ kampeġġ u b’hekk igawdu kosta mill-isbaħ u l-ambjent tal-madwar fl-akwati ta’ Għajn Tuffieħa. Fil-fatt, Malta huwa wieħed mill-aktar pajjiżi fl-Ewropa li għandu speċi ta’ flora differenti, b’aktar minn elf speċi preżenti. Dan minkejja li l-Gżejjer Maltin jokkupaw biss 316 kilometru kwadru.
Espert botaniku li jifforma parti minn dan il-festival, organizza mixja ta’ siegħa għal numru ta’ impjegati ta’ MAPFRE Malta, u dawn kellhom iċ-ċans jaraw id-diversita ta’ flora idiġena li tinsab matul il-kosta ta’ Għajn Tuffieħa. Dan l-espert spjega wkoll kif wħud mill-flora huwa ukoll tajbin għall-ikel, waqt li oħrajn huma velenużi jew jiġu użati għal skopijiet mediċi.
Is-sena li għaddiet, total ta’ €17,050 inġabru minn The Bubble, u l-fondi miġbura ġew mogħtija lil The Youth Hub, Gaia Foundation, Kabataan Orkestra u Majjistral Park. Din is-sena, minbarra l-benefiċjari li diġa ġew imsemmija, ibenifikaw ukoll Get Trashed Malta u Right to Smile.
Fil-futur, MAFPRE Middlesea lesta li tkompli turi l-appoġġ tagħha lejn avvenimenti li jippromwovu għajxien b’saħħtu u s-sostenibbiltà ambjentali.
